Between The Peaks
‘Between The Peaks’ is an award-winning expedition documentary that combines the spirits of adventure and volunteering. It is a journey to show that the difference you can make along the way matters more than where you’re going or where you’ve been. And that it is possible for anybody to follow their dreams and pursue their passions. Jonathan, Ethan, and Ryan set out in 2013 to climb two of the world’s Seven Summits. Mt. Aconcagua, also known as “the roof of the Americas”, in Argentina, and Alaska’s mighty Denali. The trio would travel the 12,000 miles, South America to North America, and volunteer for a week in every country they passed through. Along their journey, the guys found themselves stranded on unforgiving beaches, venturing up volcanic cloud forests, exploring the mysteries of the Amazon jungle, crossing borders without documentation, and fighting a white out snowstorm above 20,000ft. But they would also encounter unforgettable cultural experiences and discover a new appreciation for a simpler life. Their volunteer projects included habitat restoration and reforestation, caring for at risk exotic wild life, organic sustainable farming, building and installing a clay oven, environmental cleanup, and even donating over 50 pairs of shoes from one sponsor to less fortunate children in Honduras. This film is about having the courage to follow your dreams when everyone else calls you crazy. It is about understanding that traveling the world and pursuing your passions is a privilege not to be taken for granted, but instead it’s an opportunity to be humbly seized and a chance to give back. An adventure means getting lost to find the way. And this adventure is called ‘Between The Peaks’. Winner ‘Best Documentary Feature’ Mountain Film Festival 2015. Official Selection Sofia Biting Docs 2015.
